Brother CS6000i Review

If you're looking for a new sewing machine the Brother CS6000i is a popular model with both beginners & the experienced sewer.

Those just starting out have found it easy to use, whilst the more experienced have given it the thumbs up for the variety of stitch options it has to offer. The fact that this model is so lightweight makes it easy to transport, be it from a storage closet to a favourite workspace or to classes.

One of the most attractive things is the price!

Lets take a closer look Brother CS6000i

The extra large table is really useful when quilting.

There are a variety of stitches that the zigzag foot (all feet have letters engraved on them for convenience) will happily produce.

Should you want to move on to more advanced work there are optional feet & guides that can be purchased separately. The fact that the Brother CS-6000i are used at craft & sewing events, also a popular choice at workshops & classes must say something!

Are there any negatives?

No good review would be made up of just positives (unless of course a product is perfect!)
The one thing that stands out as a potential problem for customers with this sewing machine are problems with the bobbin - lets take a look at the issues

If you believe everything you read (not something I'm inclined to do buy hey its a matter of opinion) there would appear to be a problem with the bobbin or threading system.

Some customers have reported that fabric gets scrunched up, stitches are loose or the machine just won't sew. This is something that can happen with any machine, whatever the price, IF THE TENSION IS NOT RIGHT or THE MACHINE IS NOT THREADED CORRECTLY.

Now it seems that some people have decided to just give up & send their Brother Sewing Machine straight back to whence it came. Others however have taken time out to read the instruction manual or check out the videos which are readily available on the website.

By changing the bobbin or re-adjusting tension for specific materials, hey presto in most cases the problem was solved.

Another point that's worth mentioning is that no sewing machine will work at its best with cheap thread, you know the stuff I mean 5 reels for a dollar. If you are going to invest time & energy in your work then you would invest in a decent thread wouldn't you?
